Plurilingual memoir writing: A framework for storytelling and peacebuilding

The constantly evolving English Language Teaching (ELT) seeks to equip students with necessary skills to navigate unprecedented global challenges. Storytelling has emerged as a powerful tool for promoting peacebuilding and creating a safe and inclusive space for students to share their experiences, emotions, and perspectives. Plurilingual storytelling, a novel pedagogical approach, has the potential to bridge linguistic and cultural divides, leading to conflict resolution and peaceful coexistence, while promoting peacebuilding. This article showcases an example of a project that I designed and implemented in a Montreal, Canada language center for adults, and provides a step-by-step implementation guide for ELT practitioners. The article concludes with a recommendation for ELT practitioners to incorporate various forms of storytelling to promote and cultivate peace in ELT.
